Casting Vets
JJ founded Casting Vets as an extension of his own recovery journey at the Hot Springs V.A. where he discovered a love for fishing. Supported by friends and community leaders, he founded Casting Vets to empower fellow Veterans struggling with addiction.
Since 2018, Casting Vets has been dedicated to supporting Veterans on their own journey to recovery. Inspired by the therapeutic benefits of fishing, we provide recreational experiences to help alleviate PTSD symptoms and improve mental health. Based in Hot Springs, known as "The Veteran's Town", we serve a significant local Veteran population, including those in need of our support at our local V.A. addiction treatment facility.
We've forged partnerships with organizations including Celebrate Recovery, Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts, and the Boy and Girls Club to broaden our impact. Through initiatives like Buddy Night and comedy events, we foster community integration and raise awareness of Veteran's struggles.
